The name Mater Matuta derives from that of the ancient Italic goddess of the dawn, protectress of fertility and birth. mainly made with Syrah grapes, to which is added a small percentage of Petit Verdot which gives Mater Matuta its long aging potential while the Syrah gives it its complexity of character. Maturation of 22 to 24 months in oak, after which the wine is blended and left undisturbed in the bottle for a further 10 to 12 months

Tasting: Complex olfactory range, from sweet spices to the Mediterranean, with tobacco and coffee. The palate is soothing and structured, with well integrated tannins and a long finish with fruity echoes
