The Colonia, which take the name from the vineyard itself, was a new wine made from a single parcel that was planted in 1993. The first vintage released was the 2006, way before even the “Gran Selezione” appellation was introduced
Grape: Sangiovese
Appellation: IGT
Tasting 2015: "This is really a unique Chianti Classico that wouldn't be out of place among a flight of nebbiolo! Pure aromas of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries with hints of sweet hazelnuts, cigar box, tea leaves and dried leaves. On the full-bodied palate, the perfectly ripe and silky tannins are juxtaposed with really crisp and exciting acidity. A crunchy yet chewy finish. What a wine. Delicious now, but it can age for a long time" James Suckling
Alc: 13.5%
